DEMAND JUSTICE FOR HENRY HU

Support our movement

Our mission is to rehabilitate Henry Hu's reputation and obtain justice for the unfair harassment and abuse he suffered at Burberry. We are standing against any form of LGBTQ+ abuse and disrespect of worker's rights.

ABOUT

On September 12, 2020, Henry (picture) went out drinking with his Burberry team, including his manager, Nicky. On that night, Nicky told Henry that he had to drink an entire bottle of hard liquor or he would lose his job at Burberry. After he failed to comply, Henry left the party and was kicked out by his manager from all the professional Wechat groups as his rejection was considered challenging his manager's authority.  After Henry reported this abuse to the HR team, Nicky threatened him by lying that Henry (who is part of the LGBTQ+ community) had sexually harassed him. Following this constant abuse and harassment, Henry had to resign.

Meanwhile, Nicky continues to hold his job at Burberry. He dismissed any investigation, and forced his employees to testify in his favor. He also posted homophobic comments online about Henry.

So far, Burberry has ignored our calls for justice.

OUR MOVEMENT

What We Do

Henry group picture.jpg

BURBERRY IS SUPPORTING ABUSE

No One Should be Silenced

Henry (second on the left) resigned from his post because of the emotional abuse and harassment from Nicky (first on the left). Meanwhile, Nicky continues to hold his job at Burberry. Nicky dismissed any investigation, and forced his employees to testify in his favor.

Burberry mocked the investigation and ignored Henry's evidence. Burberry sided with the manager's oral statement, clearly standing with the abuser.

OUR GOALS

We want justice!

What Henry has endured is unfair.
We demand that Burberry take swift and appropriate action against Henry’s manager; that Henry be fairly compensated for being forced into resigning from his post; and that Burberry stand up against abuse towards its LGBTQ+ employees.

Email Title: End Abuse of LGBT+ Employees at Burberry // #JusticeforHenryHu

Dear Mr./Mrs. ______________ :

I am deeply concerned about the treatment of one of your former employees at Burberry, Henry Hu, who until recently was a member of the visual merchandising team at the SKP store in Beijing, China.

On September 12, 2020, Henry went out drinking with his Burberry team, including his manager, Nicky. On that night, Nicky told Henry that he had to drink an entire bottle of hard liquor or he would lose his job at Burberry. Nicky then threatened Henry of accusing him of sexual harassment, fearing he could report him.

Henry resigned from his post because of the emotional abuse and harassment from Nicky. Meanwhile, Nicky continues to hold his job at Burberry. He dismissed any investigation, and forced his employees to testify in his favour. He also posted homophobic comments about Henry, who is gay, online.

I demand that Burberry take swift and appropriate action against Henry’s manager; that Henry be fairly compensated for being forced into resigning from his post; and that Burberry stand up against abuse towards its LGBTQ+ employees.

Thank you for your time and attention to this serious matter.

Sincerely,
